Healing Scriptures

  • 1 Peter 2:24 – He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
  • Isaiah 53:4-5 – Surely he took up our infirmities (sicknesses) and carried our sorrows (diseases), yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
  • Matthew 8:16-17 – When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases.”
  • John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
  • Exodus 15:26 – I am the LORD, who heals you.
  • Exodus 23:26 – There shall be no one miscarrying or barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.
  • Galatians 3:13-14 – Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written: Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed. The purpose was that the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles by Christ Jesus, so that we could receive the promised Spirit through faith. (Note: Deuteronomy 28 lists the blessings and curses of the law. Many of the curses include sickness.)
  • 3 John 2 – Dear friend, I pray that you may prosper in every way and be in good health physically just as you are spiritually.
  • Psalm 107:20 – He sent forth His word and healed them…
  • Psalm 103:1-2 – Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.
  • James 5: 1418 – Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.
